As the baseball season heats up and demand for plant-based options soars, HipCityVeg has launched a plant-based hot dog cart outside of Nationals Park in Washington, DC. The custom vegan hot dog cart, co-sponsored by Beyond Meat®, is stationed in front of our newest location on Half Street, steps from the baseball stadium’s center field entrance. The new HipCityVeg location is the only 100% plant-based restaurant in the Navy Yard/Ball Park/Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, located at 1201 Half Street SE.
Our plant-based hot dog cart is open on game and event days and wheeled to the Saturday farmer’s market on Half Street. The cart serves Beyond Sausage brats on vegan hot dog buns with a variety of condiments, including grilled peppers and onions, along with fresh-pressed kale lemonade and vegan chips.
Special guest hot dog slingers will work the cart, including local and national celebrities and influencers. These pinch hitters will designate a charity to receive a portion of the sales during their shifts. Local animal rescue organizations will also have “Dogs for Dogs” adoption events in front of the cart.
